CARY, N.C. (March 18, 2022)-Morgan's Lady Bears earned their third win of the season, knocking off Norfolk State, 6-1 on Friday on Day 2 of the MEAC Round-Up at the Cary Tennis Park.
 
Morgan improved to 3-6 overall and 2-0 in the MEAC on the season, while Norfolk fell to 1-7, 0-2 MEAC.
 
Doubles (3, 2,1)
Stefania Moysiadi and Nolwenn Cardoso lost to Amber Fuller and Aleksandra Evdokimova, 3-6 at No. 1 singles.
 
In a No. 2 match, Asmara Rose and Averiana Mitchell also defeated Zada McMorris and Andrea Barcenas, 6-0.
 
Hannah Smith and Anabel Aran would defeat Breana Cook and Laura Ruiz, 6-1 at No. 3 to help the Lady Bears win the doubles point.
 
Singles (5, 6, 2, 3, 4, 1)
Morgan State won five of the six singles matches played. Norfolk State's lone point came when Aleksandra Evdokimova defeated Averiana Mitchell 6-3, 5-7 in a No. 1 singles match. Hannah Smith picked up a victory at No. 2 singles over Amber Fuller 6-3, 6-2. Asmara Rose won 6-3, 6-3 to Maria Picazo at the No. 3 spot.
 
Anabel Aran defeated Laura Ruiz 6-3, 6-3 in a No. 4 contest, while Nolwenn Cardoso won her No. 5 singles match against Niya Grant 6-0, 6-0. The Lady Bears' Stefania Moysiadi defeated Andrea Barcenas 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
