HARRISONBURG, Va. (Feb. 20, 2022)-The Morgan State women's tennis team returned to the courts Sunday morning with a non-conference match against James Madison. The Lady Bears would fall to the host Dukes, 5-2 at the East Campus Tennis Courts.

The Dukes improved to 3-5 with the win, while Morgan State fell to 0-4 in non-conference play this season.

Singles
James Madison would win five of the six singles matches played to earn the 5-2 victory. The Lady Bears' lone singles victory came in the final match of the day, when Morgan State graduate player Nolwenn Cardoso defeated Alexandra Prudente in three-sets 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (12-10) in a No. 6 contest.

Doubles
The Lady Bears began the contest winning two of the three doubles matches to claim the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead.

James Madison's No. 2 doubles team of Daniela Voloh and Amanda Nord defeated the Lady Bears'
Hannah Smith and
Ana-Lei Kalawe, 6-2. Morgan State would regroup to win the remaining two doubles contests to earn the point.

Anabel Aran and
Stefania Moysiadi were paired together at No. 3 doubles and defeated Shannon McCarty and Alexandra Prudente by the score of 6-4. The Lady Bears then claimed the doubles point when Morgan State's No. 1 team of
Averiana Mitchell and
Asmara Rose earned a 7-6, (11-9) victory over Hope Moulin and Kylie Moulin in a No. 1 doubles match.

Next Up: Morgan State will be off until Saturday, March 5 when it hosts Georgetown in a non-conference match at 1 p.m.
