TOWSON, Md. (Sept. 3, 2021)-The Morgan State volleyball team began Friday's Towson Invitational with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-19) loss to Stony Brook at SECU Arena.
 
Morgan State (0-5) was led by Makila Billingsley and Madison Grace, who both had four kills. Mackenzie Jefferson finished with 15 assists and Alyssa Sampson led the Lady Bears with 11 digs, while Jadore Hayes added 10. Kendal Hoges had a match-high four assisted blocks.
 
The Seawolves were led by Leoni Kunz, who totaled 13 kills, while Enitan Omolewa added eight. Torri Henry finished with a match-high 32 assists and Sabrina Patriciello had a match-high 11 digs.
 
Stony Brook finished the match hitting .237, while recording 40 kills and 40 digs. Omolewa hit .467 and Kunz .409 for the contest. The Seawolves did commit 18 attack errors and had 11 service errors. Stony Brook held a 6.0-5.0 blocking advantage over Morgan State. Omolewa had a team-leading three assisted blocks.
 
The Lady Bears totaled 16 kills and 29 digs. Morgan State was hindered by 20 attack errors, as the team hit -.049 for the match. MSU also had eight service errors.
 
Morgan State returns to the court on Saturday at 10 a.m. when it takes on Princeton at SECU Arena. The Tigers (0-1) dropped their season opener earlier in the day against Loyola Maryland in three sets (25-23, 25-22, 26-24).
