BALTIMORE, Md. (August 27, 2021)-The United States Naval Academy (Navy) and Towson both finished the opening day of the 2021 Baltimore Invite Tournament unbeaten on Friday at Morgan State's Hill Field House.

Navy (2-0) won both of its contests, defeating Binghamton in three sets (25-17, 25-14, 25-14), before concluding the evening with a 3-1 victory over Cleveland State (25-15, 21-25, 25-14, 25-16). The Mids win over Binghamton gave head coach Paco Labrador his 500
th career coaching victory.

Towson (1-0) won its lone match of the day, defeating the host Lady Bears 3-0 (25-9, 25-13, 25-15). The Tigers improved to 20-9 all-time against Morgan State.

Cleveland State (1-1) split its two matches, earning a 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-17) victory over Morgan State in the tournament opener, before falling to Navy.

Binghamton (0-1) and host Morgan State (0-2) both went winless on the day. The Bearcats dropped their lone contest, falling to Navy in three sets.

The two teams will search for their first win of the weekend and season when they meet for Saturday's opener at 10 a.m.
