MORGAN ATHLETICS COACHES & STAFF REACH 100% GIVING

BALTIMORE, Md. (February 8, 2021) -- Morgan State University Athletics is proud to announce that 100% of coaches and staff in the department have donated to the Morgan Bear Club in support  of Morgan Student-Athletes and Morgan Athletics.

This is a first for Baltimore's 154-year old Historically Black College and University (HBCU). Coaches and staff collectively donated through one-time or reoccurring monetary gifts to reinforce their full commitment to student-athlete success. 

"This is a fantastic way to start off 2021," says Director of Athletics, Dr. Edward Scott. "Our coaches and staff support our student-athletes and department everyday—especially during this pandemic. But to have them step up like this demonstrates a true 'all in' commitment. I couldn't be more proud to be a Morgan Bear."  

With the launch of the Morgan Bear Club, 2021 fundraising is off to a great start for Morgan Athletics, surpassing the $100,000 goal before the end of January. 

"This will build upon the support already given to the new Morgan Bear Club from generous supporters and alumni.  We are excited about the future as it is an exciting time for Morgan Athletics," says Associate Athletics Director for Development & Revenue Generation, Lydell Sargeant.
