BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 8, 2021)-Jennifer Bolden recorded a team-high nine kills, while hitting .471 for the match and Tamar Wells (.462) and Cimone Woodard (.500) each had seven kills to help visiting Howard to a 3-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) victory over Morgan State on Friday at Hill Field House.

Howard improved to 6-10 overall and 3-1 in the MEAC with the win, while also ending a three-match losing skid to the Bears in Baltimore. The victory also gave Howard its first road win of the season in five tries. Morgan State dropped to 3-15 overall, 1-3 in the MEAC and fell to 0-6 at home.

Madison Grace led all players with 10 kills, while
Gabriela Hiciano finished with seven kills and nine digs.
Jadore Hayes had a match-high 14 digs and
Trinity Carruthers finished with 14 assists for the Lady Bears.

The Lady Bison totaled 39 kills, including 14 each in the first and second sets. Howard hit for a set-best .364 in the opening set and finished the contest hitting .326 as a team. The guests tallied 38 assists with 32 coming from Kayla Diaz. Howard finished with six service aces, but committed 13 service errors.

Morgan totaled 27 kills and hit .077 as a team. The Lady Bears' best set came in the third, finishing with 12 kills, while hitting for .162. Both squads had 36 digs.

Morgan State returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 10, when it visits Norfolk State for a MEAC contest at 1 p.m. at Gill Gymnasium. The Spartans (5-11, 1-4 MEAC) ended a five-match losing skid by handing Coppin State a 3-1 loss (14-25, 25-15, 25-14, 25-16) on Friday in Norfolk, Va.
