BALTIMORE, Md. (February  28, 2020)-The Lady Bears tennis team dropped a close 4-3 non-conference road match on Friday night at the Central Pa. Tennis Center in South Williamsport, Pa.
 
The difference in the match would come in the doubles competition, as Bucknell and Morgan State would each win three of the six singles matches.
 
The host Bison (6-2) won the doubles point, which proved to be the difference, following wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. Junior 
Asmara Rose and sophomore 
Averiana Mitchell were paired at No. 1 doubles and posted a 6-4 victory over Bucknell's team of Paige Leavy and Daniela Bellini.
 
Mitchell captured a three-set win over Leavy 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 in a No. 2 singles match. Morgan State's other two victories came from freshman 
Anabel Torrente, who defeated Jillian Auteri 6-4, 6-3 in a No. 4 singles match, while fellow freshman 
Stefania Moysiadi defeated Bucknell's Chloe Zilkha 6-2, 6-2 at the fifth spot.
 
Next up for the Lady Bears (2-6) will be a non-conference contest against Binghamton on Saturday at noon at the Central Pa. Tennis Center in South Williamsport, Pa.
