Men's Tennis Falls to Navy, 4-0

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (February 21, 2020) -- Morgan State men's tennis took on the Navy Midshipmen at the Tose Family Tennis Center in Annapolis. The Bears played well throughout but were unable to clinch the victory, falling to Navy 4-0.
 
The Bears fall to 5-3 for the season, while Navy improved its record to 11-3.

Morgan State fought hard in doubles, but were knocked off with one match going unfinished. Sebastian Lopez and Nihit Rawal were outlasted by Christian Pumpelly and Reilly Wilson 6-3. The duo of Mark Amaefule and Serhii Kharchev were outmatched 6-2 by navy's duo of Derrick Thompson and Andrew Ton. Oguzhan Ceyland and Cem Erturk fought against Jake Fishkin and Finn Garner but the match went unfinished.

The Bears had a tough battle in singles. Amaefule was shutout by Matthew Lee 6-0, 6-0 at number six singles. Nihit Rawal put up a fight at number two singles against Derrick Thompson but lost 6-4, 6-0. Lopez was outplayed by Gavin Seagraves 6-2, 6-2 at number three singles. 

Morgan State is back home Sunday, March 1 where they face the La Salle Explorers at 5 p.m.
