NORFOLK, Va. (Feb. 19, 2020)-Morgan State sophomore Averiana Mitchell was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
 
This is the second consecutive MEAC Player of the Week honor for Mitchell.
 
A native of Las Vegas, Nev., Mitchell finished the week going a combined 2-0, following victories at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles. She earned her third straight singles victory after defeating Natasha Novak of Duquesne 7-5, 6-3 in a No. 2 singles match. Mitchell then teamed with Asmara Rose for a 6-2 defeat of Priyanka Mitta and Meredith Lee at the No. 1 position.
 
The Lady Bears (2-4) are scheduled to host Eastern Michigan on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
