Men’s Tennis Drop 4-0 Decision at Old Dominion

NORFOLK, Va. (February 16, 2020) – Morgan State men's tennis completed its weekend swing in the Tidewater area of Virginia by dropping a 4-0 decision to Old Dominion on Sunday at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center. The Bears had its 3-match winning streak snapped and are now 5-2 for the season.

ODU improved now 9-1 for the season, which is its best start since the 2015 season. The Monarchs also improved their home record to 8-0. 

ODU claimed the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. The Bears tandem of Nihit Rawal and Sebastian Lopez fell 6-4 at number 3 doubles against Younes Lalami and Federico Rebecchini. The Monarch then snagged a victory at the top spot when Francois Musitelli and Jannik Giesse ended up winning 6-4 against Serhii Kharchez and Mark Amaefule
 
The Monarchs picked up victories at #1, #3 and #5 in singles play to close out the match, which was played to clinch.
 
The Bears will return to action on Saturday (Feb. 22) with a pair of matches against Navy (9-3) and Villanova (3-2) at the Tose Family Tennis Center in Annapolis.
