Chelsea Mitchell was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Co-Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday. It is the fifth MEAC weekly honor this season for Mitchell, who previously earned MEAC Defensive (11/26), Co-Defensive Player (11/12) and MEAC Co-Player of the Week (12/17, 1/7) honors.

Mitchell shares this week's honor with Bethune-Cookman's Amaya Scott. Florida A&M's Alaina Rice was named MEAC Rookie of the Week, while Coppin State's Chance Graham was named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week.

A native of Columbia, Md., Mitchell averaged a double-double recording 17.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per contest, as the Lady Bears went 2-0 for the week to extend their winning streak to a season-long four straight. Mitchell shot a combined 13-for-26 (50.0 percent) from the floor and 90 percent (9-for-10) from the free throw line.

Mitchell began the week recording 15 points, 10 rebounds and five steals in a win at rival Coppin State (1/25). She followed that up on Monday with a 20-point, 14-rebound effort against Maryland Eastern Shore to earn her league leading ninth double-double.
