Morgan State Wide Receiver Manasseh Bailey Shines at Tropical Bowl

DELAND, Fla. (January 14, 2020) -- Morgan State senior wide receiver Manasseh Bailey continues to make a name for himself, and possibly get noticed by the NFL.

Bailey had a fantastic showing in the SPIRAL Tropical Bowl Sunday, helping the National team beat the American 35-7 at Spec Martin Stadium.

Bailey played part in a Baltimore connection when he blew by defenders for a 25-yard touchdown from Towson's Tom Flacco to cap off the National team's opening drive.
"It was great to be able to put the pads on again and be able to showcase my talents against great competition," said Bailey. "It was  also great to play on the same team as some of the nation's top players such as Tom Flacco."

Flacco is the brother of Denver Broncos quarterback Joe Flacco.

Bailey finished the game with three receptions for 50 yards.

"I am forever grateful to have played in the Spiral Tropical Bowl."

Bailey finished 2019 season as a member of the 2019 All-MEAC Team and set school records in a number of categories during his final collegiate season.

The Capitol Heights (Md.) native finished the season ranked 3rd in the MEAC in receiving yards (996 yds) – it ranks as the 2nd highest total in Morgan State history behind Clarence Holzendorf (1,702 yds; 1993). Bailey also ranked among the league leaders: 3rd in reception TDs (10), 4th in receptions (54),  6th in scoring TDs (11), and 8th in scoring (68 pts).

Bailey is a 6-foot-1, 195-pound prospect with blazing speed (4.39 in the 40-yard dash) to go along with his production. He offers a lightning-fast deep threat over the top and showed off his speed during the Tropical Bowl.  In addition to his special teams productivity, he could earn a spot as a "diamond in the rough" on an NFL roster.
