BALTIMORE, Md. (Aug. 16, 2016)-Morgan State volleyball fans will get their first glimpse of the 2019 Lady Bears this Saturday, August 17, when they take on the MSU Alumni Team in the annual 'Orange & Blue' Scrimmage. First serve of this actual best-of-five sets match is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Hill Field House.
Saturday's contest will cap off the first full week of practice for the Lady Bears, as well as mark the conclusion of preseason camp two-a-days with the start of the 2019-20 academic calendar beginning next Monday.
"I think this first week hasn't been bad. We still have a lot of growing to do," said Morgan State head coach Ramona Riley-Bozier, who is entering her 31st season at the helm. "It's still a very young team. We only have two seniors. All in all, good attitudes."
Morgan State, which was picked to finish third in this season's Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division Preseason Poll, opens up the 2019 campaign at home for the first time in 15 years when it hosts the Morgan/Towson Invitational (Aug. 30-31). The entire tournament will be held at Morgan State's Hill Field House.
The Lady Bears begin Day 1 with a 1 p.m. contest against Seton Hall, followed by a 7 p.m. match-up with William & Mary. Morgan State will conclude the weekend when it welcomes crosstown rival Towson on Saturday at 6 p.m. It will be the first meeting between the two since 2012.
