BALTIMORE, Md. (April 8, 2019)-Morgan State senior forward
Adre'onia Coleman was named to the BOXTOROW Division I HBCU Women's All-American First Team on Monday as announced by BOXTOROW.com. Coleman becomes the first Morgan State women's basketball player to receive the honor since its inception in 2012.

Shakyla Hill of Grambling was named BOXTOROW Player of the Year, while Vanessa Blair-Lewis of Bethune-Cookman was named BOXTOROW Coach of the Year.

Coleman, who was a three-time MEAC Player of the Week selection and a two-time
College Sports Madness MEAC Player of the Week honoree this season, also garnered All-MEAC first team accolades.

A native of Baltimore, Coleman started all 31 games and led the team in scoring (16.3) and rebounding (7.9). She had nine double-doubles on the season and reached double figures 28 times, including a career-high 26 points against UMBC (12/20). Coleman would grab a season-best 15 rebounds twice against UMass Lowell (12/29) and Savannah State (1/7).

Coleman helped the Lady Bears to a sixth-place MEAC finish and ranked fourth in the MEAC in scoring, sixth in rebounding, eighth in field goal percentage (.412), seventh in steals (1.6) and 15
th in free throw percentage (.664).

Joining Coleman as first-team All-Americans were Ashley Bates (Hampton), Angel Golden (Bethune-Cookman), Marneisha Hamer (Jackson State), Shakyla Hill (Grambling), Niya Mitchell (Texas Southern), NaJai Pollard (Delaware State).

Ciani Byrom (Maryland Eastern Shore), Shala Dobbins (Prairie View A&M), Brooke Fields (Coppin State), C'Coriea Foy (North Carolina A&T) and Shawntayla Harris (Arkansas Pine Bluff) were named to the second-team.
