Men's Tennis shut out at Georgetown, 4-0

WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 14, 2019) -- The Morgan State men's tennis team was blanked by Georgetown 4-0 on Saturday morning in the Nation's Capitol.

The Bears (10-7) played with a short bench and deferred at No. 3 doubles to give the Hoyas an early advantage. With just one win needed, Chen and Charlie Sharton   defeated Shrey Gupta and Sebastian Lopez 6-2 at No. 1 to clinch the doubles point.

In singles, Morgan State fielded five players, deferring at No. 6. With the 2-0 advantage in favor of the Hoyas, Andrew Rozanov battled to win in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. Rohan Kamder then finished his match 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 to improve Georgetown's record to 6-10 on the season.

"We played but our main focus right now is finishing out the Division strong at Coppin, getting healthy and getting ready for MEAC Championship play," said MSU coach Matthew Townes.

The Bears will return to action Monday, April 15, when they face crosstown rival Coppin State to MSU Tennis Courts. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
