DURHAM, N.C. (March 18, 2019)-The Morgan State women's tennis once again team fell short, falling 4-3 to North Carolina Central University (4-8) on Monday.

The Lady Bears (2-8) all split double and single today. At No. 2 doubles,
Averiana Mitchell and
Jourdan Wallace won 6-2, while
Dana Santiago and
Oriane Yehouenou won 6-1 at the No. 3 spot, giving an early 1-0 lead to Morgan State.

The lead was cut short when Wallace lost her No. 4 singles match, 6-2, 6-1.

Peggy Rooke and
Asmara Rose lost their doubles match at No. 1 position, but bounced back in singles play and respectively won 6-3, 6-3 and 6-2, 6-1.

In spite of their 3-1 lead, the Lady Bears would lose the other three singles matches which cost them the loss.

At No. 3 singles, Mitchell lost 6-3, 6-4.
Oriane Yehouenou fell to Polina Sakharova at the No. 5 spot, 6-4, 6-3. The Lady Bears and the Eagles (4-8) were tied at 3-3 when Santiago fell to Ivana Dragovic in three-sets (6-4, 6-7(5), 6-3) at the No. 6 position.Â

The Lady Bears will be back in action Tuesday, March 19 when they play North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C.
