McBride, Wallace Named MEAC Co-Player And Setter Of The Week For Sixth Time

NORFOLK, Va. (Nov. 11, 2019)-Morgan State sophomore Zoe McBride was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Co-Player of the Week and senior Roi Wallace was named MEAC Setter of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday. It is the sixth MEAC weekly honor this season for both McBride and Wallace.
 
Bethune-Cookman's Faith Landreneaux shared Co-Player of the week honors with McBride, while Alleah Dallas of Bethune-Cookman was named MEAC Rookie of the Week. Shayla Eugene of Bethune-Cookman and Kira Porter of Howard each earned MEAC Co-Defensive Specialist of the Week honors.
 
McBride hit .467 in Morgan State's lone contest for the week, a straight sets victory over rival Coppin State on Friday. The sweep over their rivals allowed the Lady Bears to solidify their position in second place in the MEAC Northern Division standings.
 
A native of Ridgefield, Wash., McBride totaled 18 kills, four digs, three service aces and three blocks – giving her averages of 6.0 kills, 1.33 digs, 1.0 aces and 1.0 blocks per set.
 
Wallace averaged 12.3 assists per set and had five digs and a pair of service aces. The San Dimas, Calif. native posted a match-high 37 assists in the win at Coppin State, giving her 3,504 for her career. She is now 141 assists shy of moving into second all-time on the Morgan State career charts.
