BALTIMORE, Md. (Nov. 1, 2019)-The Lady Bears begin the second half of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division slate this evening when they welcome four-time defending MEAC champion Howard. First serve is at 7 p.m. at Hill Field House.
Morgan State leads the all-time series, 37-36, but Howard has won three straight and seven of the last eight contests against the Lady Bears dating back to the 2015 season. The Lady Bison claimed this season's first meeting, 3-0 in Washington, D.C. (10/8).
The Lady Bears (12-11, 6-4 MEAC) are riding a season-long four-match winning streak, following a 3-1 victory at home over rival Coppin State on Tuesday.
Zoe McBride (24 kills, 14 digs), Tylar Roberson (19 kills, 16 digs) and Roi Wallace (51 assists, 10 digs) all earned double-doubles in the win over Coppin State. Mykaela Ross chipped in with nine kills and Sara Brown hit for a team-high .250 with four kills to help Morgan State record 56 kills for the match. Jennevy Santos notched a match-high 20 digs, as the Lady Bears totaled 72 as a team.
Howard (12-11, 9-0 MEAC) is in the midst of a season-long nine-match winning streak. The Lady Bison held off visiting North Carolina A&T State, 3-2 on Sunday in a match of the last two unbeatens in MEAC play.Â
Tamar Wells recorded a match-high 15 kills and Kira Porter added 12, while hitting a match-high .611 for the match. Semira Blair had a match-high 23 assists and Kayla Diaz added 21. Fola Wilson finished with 18 digs and Junree Tipton and Abby Morrow each had 11.
