Morgan State Football’s Annual Spring Game Set for April 28

BALTIMORE, Md (Tuesday, April 24, 2018) – Morgan State University football, under the guidance of interim head coach Ernest T. Jones, will hold its annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 28, at Hughes Stadium– Earl C. Banks Field.  Admission to the game is FREE.

"I am excited about the progress the team has made during the preparation leading up to this year's spring game. The team is more unified, more disciplined, and have a great understanding of who we are as  team."

"This by far has been a very productive spring as the offense has limited there turnover's by protecting the football. The offense has developed a physical identity while taking advantage of the opportunities that the defense presents to them. The defense has become a better tackling team and has limited the big play opportunity. The special teams are a team favorite as all players are competing for positions on all special teams."

Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. between the Orange and the Blue squads.

"The year's spring game will one of the most competitive games in recent years and it will feel and look like a regular season football game," added Jones.

The Bears return 37 letterwinners, including 14 starters, to its spread offense and 4-3 defense.

Morgan State has a 2018 season that features five games in Hughes Stadium, including a home-opener matchup against Towson on Sept. 1 in the 'Battle for Greater Baltimore'.  Homecoming is slated for Oct. 6 versus South Carolina State.
