BALTIMORE, Md. (April 14, 2018)-The Lady Bears tennis team fell narrowly, 4-3 to Hofstra University in the last home game of the season on Saturday at the MSU Tennis Courts. It was senior day for Danielle Thompson who recorded another win at number one singles to top off the day. The win was career singles victory No. 50 for Thompson.

The Hofstra Pride captured the doubles point to get the better start, which proved to be crucial.

Thompson's win at number one singles evened out the score at 1-1. Junior Oriane Yehouenou won in straight sets at number five singles, and freshman Asmara Faluke only dropped three games at number six singles.

However, Hofstra came back strong, getting wins at number two, three, and four singles, to secure the non-conference match by a score of 4-3.

"We fought hard today, but started slow, didn't get the doubles point, and couldn't quite recover after that," said Morgan State head coach Matthew Townes. "Danielle continued her awesome play this year, but it will take a bit more help in the middle of our lineup to come out on top of these tough matches. We press forward, knowing our best tennis has yet to come."

The Lady Bears (7-12) will be back in action Sunday April 15th as they travel to Norfolk State University for a conference match that marks the last match of the regular season.
