Bears Cruise to 74-48 Victory at Florida A&M

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- It's been awhile sine the Bears tasted victory on the road. But tonight they were not to be denied.

Tiwian Kendley led the charge for the Bears Monday night as he scored a game-high 24 points while David Syfax had a season-high 17 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks as the Bears routed the Florida A&M 74-48.

Morgan State, who swept the season series against the Rattlers, improved to 10-15 overall and 6-6 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play.

The Bears dominated the Rattlers from wire to wire and outscored them in the paint by a commanding 48-4 margin en route to its first road win since a Nov. 27 win (69-63) at Mount St. Mary's. Morgan State also held a 41-22 advantage on the boards.

Kendley, who has scored 20 or more points in 13 of his first 15 games, shot 9-of-17 from the field as Morgan State sank shot 51 percent from the floor and connected on 13-of-14 free throws.

Stanley Davis added 13 points to lead a charge of reserves who outscored the Rattlers' bench players 20-0.

Phillip Carr chipped in nine rebounds with six points and had a pair of blocks.

Desmond Williams and Marcus Barham had 17 points each as the Rattlers dropped to 4-8 in conference and 5-23 overall.  The Rattlers, who beat North Carolina Central on Saturday, was limited to shooting just 31 percent (14-45 FG) for the game.

The Bears led 38-18 at halftime and had their largest lead at 67-40.

Florida A&M had a 9-0 run to get within 50-36 in the second half but got no closer.
