BALTIMORE, Md. -- Jordan Little and Sherwyn Devonish-Prince Jr. each scored 14 points and Morgan State used a second-half comeback to beat Binghamton 74-68 on Wednesday night at Hill Field House.
The Bearcats led 44-28 at halftime and extended the margin to 20 points early in the second half before Morgan State (3-5) mounted its rally. The Bears outscored Binghamton 30-8 in a 12-minute span and took a 58-56 lead with a pair for free throws by Jordan with 6:42 left.
J.C. Show made a pair of free throws to knot the score, but Martez Cameron responded with a jump shot and Devonish-Prince buried a 3-pointer and the Bears led for the remainder. Sam Sessom's narrowed the deficit to 68-66 with 71 seconds left before the Bears closed it our making 6 of 8 from the foul line. Cameron added 13 points.
Sessoms scored 22 and Show scored 19 for Binghamton (3-6).
"I thought that at halftime we just weren't making shots," said MSU coach Todd Bozeman. "We were getting shots and we got the ball inside. I thought JL [Jason Little] was doing a good job posting up, we just weren't making shots and we weren't doing a very good job defending."
"We did a better job of defending in the second half," added Bozeman. "We had to put a trap on the ball screen, because of the Sessoms getting open and making shots. Our guys just did a better job defending."
The Bears turned up their pressure in the second half, forced 12 turnovers and put 46 points on the board.
"I'm just glad the guys picked it up on defense and it's a good birthday present for me."
Morgan State (3-5) will face Towson (2-6) on Saturday (Dec. 5) in the Charm City Classic. Start time at Royal Farms Arena is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on WEAA, 88.9FM.
