Central Connecticut Hands Lady Bears Second Home Loss, 60-36

BALTIMORE, Md. (Nov. 26, 2018)-The Lady Bears couldn't get anything going as they were defeated by the Central Connecticut Blue Devils 60-36 at Hill Field House to extend their losing streak to six games. Adre'onia Coleman scored a game-high 14 points and freshman Ashia McCalla added 13 for the Lady Bears.

Morgan State (1-7) and Central Connecticut met last season for the first time with the Lady Bears winning 61-41 in New Britain, Conn.

Ashley Berube led the Blue Devils with 10 points, while Andi Lydon scored nine and their squad's leading scorer this season, Kiana Patterson, went 2-of-8 for six points as Central Connecticut (1-4) pick up their first win of the season.

The Blue Devils held the lead for the majority of the game, allowing the Lady Bears to only have a two-point lead early in the first period.

The Lady Bears shots simply wouldn't fall in this game. They shot a disappointing 2-of-13 (15.4 percent) in the first half and ended the game 24.6 percent (14-of-57). Three players went a combined 0-18 for the entire game.

The Blue Devils were able to shoot a little better, shooting 23.1 percent (3-of-13) in the first half and 43.9 percent (25-of-57) for the game.

Although the Lady Bears have lost six in a row, they have a player in Coleman showing some urgency. Coleman leads the team in scoring and rebounding. She also scored a game-high 20 points against seventh-ranked Maryland (11/23) in the Puerto Rico Clasico tournament.

The Lady Bears look to snap their losing streak as they make stop number one on their four-game road trip at Western Kentucky University. The Lady Bears and Lady Toppers will tip-off on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. CT in Bowling Green, Ky.
