BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 8, 2016)-The Morgan State volleyball team will look to get back in the win column this Sunday, when it visits the Delaware State Hornets in a MEAC Northern Division contest at Memorial Hall in Dover, Del.
The Lady Bears (2-16, 2-2 MEAC), who are in the midst of a two-match losing skid, have dropped from being tied for first to now being tied for third during the slide.
Morgan State's last outing was a 3-0 defeat at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Thursday night. Keana Browne led the Lady Bears with a match-high 11 kills and had a team-high hitting percentage of .381. Roi Wallace finished with 19 assists and added 10 digs to record her first double-double of her career. Jasmin Hubbard recorded a match-high 11 digs in the loss.
Natashia Barker leads the Lady Bears with 146 kills, while Haley McClure (114 kills) leads the team with 12 service aces. Wallace has totaled 391 assists and Hubbard has recorded a team-high 141 digs. Browne has a team-leading 30 blocks on the season.
Delaware State (0-17, 0-4 MEAC) remained winless on the season, after it dropped a 3-0 home decision to Coppin State on Friday. Jae Jackson tallied a match-high 12 kills for the Hornets. Danyelle Tucker and Alliyah McBean led the squad defensively with nine and eight digs, respectively. Gabriella Enriquez finished with 19 assists.
Jackson leads the Hornets in blocks with 31 and also leads the team kills with a total of 90, while Sydney Armbrister has recorded 86 kills. Enriquez has 307 assists on the season and McBean leads Delaware State with 240 digs thus far. Â
Morgan State has won the last nine meetings against Delaware State dating back to the 2011 season and holds an all-time record of 42-18 against the Hornets.
