BALTIMORE, Md. --
Cedric Blossom scored 19 points, added four steals, and Morgan State overwhelmed Howard in the second half in an 83-63 win on Saturday at Hill Field House.
Andre Horne Jr., who was making his first start since Nov. 28, finished with 18 points and connected on 9-of-12 free throws.
Rasean Simpson had 15 and
Phillip Carr had 14 for the Bears (4-15, 2-4 MEAC), who snapped a three game losing skid.

Simpson also pulled down nine rebounds and Carr added six.

Morgan State was held below 40 percent shooting and hit just one 3-pointer; however the Bears forced 25 Howard turnovers and hit 38 of 47 at the free throw line.

James "J-Bird" Daniel III, who entered the contest averaging 27.9 points (No. 1 in the nation) led the Bison (10-11, 4-2) with 18 points and Marcel Boyd had 17 and nine rebounds.

Morgan State held only a 34-33 lead at halftime. But the Bears ripped off an 18-3 run midway through the second half, capped by an
Antonio Gillespie jumper and a
Kyle Thomas layup, which effectively put the game away.
"We did a great job defensively," MSU coach
Todd Bozeman said about his team's performance. "We just want to get better and this is the first time we have had everybody back and healthy for the first time all year," said Bozeman. "I think the guys are starting to come together, so it's a good sign and it was a good win for us."

"I'm happy for the guys, they've been working hard. Sometimes it's hard for folks to understand you're getting better when you're not producing wins, but they've been getting better, so today was their reward."

The Bears outrebounded Howard by a 38-35 margin and made the most of their free throws by converting a season-high 38-of-47 (80.9 percent) from the stripe.
