GREENSBORO, N.C. (Feb. 23, 2015)-
Braennan Farrar led Morgan State with a career- and game-high 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting, but it wasn't enough, as the Lady Bears could not hold off host North Carolina A&T in a 67-59 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) loss on Monday evening at Corbett Sports Center.
Farrar also added a team-high six rebounds, had a game-high two steals and notched four of the team's six assists, as Morgan State dropped its fifth consecutive game. Morgan State led 52-45 on a jumper by
Dinah Jones with 6:27 remaining in the game, but as has been the case all season long and plagued the team, the Lady Bears went on a scoring drought.
The Lady Aggies countered with a 15-0 run in less than four minutes to take a 60-52 lead with 2:21 left to play. Nazario hit a three-pointer in the midst of the run at the 4:56 mark, which gave A&T its first lead of the game at 54-52. The Lady Aggies would not look back, limiting Morgan State to just seven points the final 6:27 of the game.
Morgan State, which entered the contest ranked last (343) among all Division I women's teams in field goal percentage at 31.1 percent, shot 46.2 percent (24-for-52) for the game, its third highest shooting percentage this season.
The Lady Bears close out their 2014-15 home slate on Saturday, Feb. 28, when they
