BALTIMORE, Md. -- Shane Richards made a career-high seven 3-pointers in matching his career-best of 28 points and Manhattan defeated Morgan State 78-66 on Sunday at Hill Field House.
Rich Williams added 23 points and 10 rebounds off the bench for the junior's second career double-double. Thomas Capuano added 10 points for the Jaspers (3-7) who won their second game in a row.
Richards scored 17 points and Williams 14 in the first half when the Jaspers took a 46-38 lead. The Bears led only at 2-0.
Cedric Blossom scored a season-high 25 points with seven rebounds,
Antonio Gillespie added a season-high 17 and
Rasean Simpson 13 for the Bears (2-7), who lost their fourth consecutive game.
The Bears got within five points, 66-61, with five minutes left in the game but the Jaspers then went on a 10-1 run to lead by 14 with a 1:37 left.
Both teams shot 48 percent from the floor. The Jaspers connected on 20-of-23 from the free throw line, while the Bears shot 69 percent (20-29) from the stripe.
