BALTIMORE, Md. (Jan. 4, 2015)-Brown's Sophie Bikofsky scored a game-high 20 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including six three-pointers to lead the visiting Bears to a 59-52 non-conference victory over Morgan State on Sunday afternoon at Hill Field House. The win improved Brown to 3-0 all-time over Morgan State, while the host Lady Bears dropped their second straight game at home.

The visiting Brown Bears (5-8) also got 11 points from reserve Janie White, while Ellise Sharpe came off the bench to add 10 points. Jordin Alexander recorded a game-high five steals and Rebecca Musgrove pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.

The Lady Bears (3-11), who were in search of their first back-to-back wins of the season and first since Feb. 19-24, 2014, were led by
Braennan Farrar, who finished with a team-high 19 points.
Danielle Robinson came off the bench to add 16 points and
Lexus Spears fell shy of a double-double with nine rebounds and eight points.
Zuri White, who just three days earlier grabbed a then career-high 12 rebounds, finished with a career- and game-high 14 boards.

Morgan State, which was down 34-21 at the intermission, trailed by as much as 21 points (44-23) in the second half, following a three-pointer by Bikofsky with 15:29 to play. The Lady Bears would go on a 29-11 run over the next 13 minutes, capped off by a three-pointer by Farrar to pull within 55-53 with 2:08 remaining in the game.

However, the Lady Bears would not score again, as the guests would get a layup from Sharpe and Bikofsky added two free throws for the win. Â

Morgan State, which shot 18 percent (6-of-33) in the first half, finished the game shooting 28 percent (17-of-60) from the floor. Brown shot 48 percent (20-of-52) for the game.

The Lady Bears held a 47-36 rebounding advantage over Brown. Both squads shot 57 percent from the free throw line, as Brown connected on 12-of-21 from the charity stripe and Morgan State shot 11-of-19.

Morgan State returns to Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play on Saturday, Jan. 10, when it travels to Dover, Del. to take on Delaware State. Tip-off is at 2 p.m. at Memorial Hall.
