Harrington, Carrington Lead Morgan State In Loss At Georgia Tech

ATLANTA, Ga. (Nov. 16, 2014)-Morgan State sophomore Ivy Harrington came off the bench to score a career-high 20 points on 9-for-9 shooting and senior captain Tracey Carrington also added 20 points, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Bears dropped a 105-76 non-conference decision at Georgia Tech on Sunday afternoon at McCamish Pavilion.

The 105 points scored by the Yellow Jackets marks just the second time an opponent has scored 100-plus points against Morgan State during head coach Donald Beasley's 10 years at the helm. The 105 points surpasses the 104 points scored by Missouri State (12/18/11) as the most points scored against a Beasley coached team during his tenure at Morgan State.

Harrington, who was coming off a two point performance in Friday's loss at Georgia, also set a career high with nine made field goals. Freshman Tykyrah Williams added 13 points and hauled in a team-high five rebounds for the Lady Bears.

Georgia Tech (2-0) was led by Aaliyah Whiteside, who scored a career- and game-high 26 points on 8-of-12 shooting, while Kaela Davis fell shy of a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds. Roddreka Rogers did record a double-double, finishing with 17 points and a game-high 17 rebounds.

Morgan State which scored just 36 points the entire game in its opener against Georgia, trailed Georgia Tech, 60-42 at the intermission.

The Lady Bears (0-2) will return home for their home opener against Wesley on Tuesday, Nov. 18. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at Hill Field House. Last season Morgan State defeated the Wolverines, 90-55 in the first meeting between the two teams in Baltimore (11/20).
