Morgan State’s Lawrence Forbes Named College Football Performance Awards National Punter of the Week

BALTIMORE, Md. – Morgan State's Lawrence Forbes was acknowledged for his individual performance against Liberty on September 14. Forbes was named the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) Punter Performer of the Week, which was announced Sunday.
 
Forbes, an Upper Marlboro (Md.) native, had an impressive outing during MSU's contest with the Flames. The redshirt-freshman averaged a season-high 52 yards on five punts, including a 78-yard bomb. All two of his punts landed inside of the 20 yardline, including one that was downed at Liberty's 1 yardline.
 
Forbes' punting average currently ranks No. 4 in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) by averaging 46.4 yards per punt.
 
The Bears (0-3) will head west to face Sun Belt Conference opponent Western Kentucky on Saturday (Sept. 21) in Bowling Green, Ky. The Hilltoppers (1-2, 0-1) will enter the contest coming off of a 31-24 conference road loss to South Alabama. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at L.T. Smith Stadium.
