Ngebui Chafeh (14) finished with 33 assists and three kills, while Janelle Wilson (11) had five kills against Howard on Senior Night..
Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. (Nov. 8, 2013)-The outcome of Friday evening's season finale against Beltway rival Howard, did end the way the Lady Bears had planned or hoped to close out the season on Senior Night. Instead, it was the Lady Bison walking away with a 3-1 (25-21, 16-25, 25-15, 25-17) road win in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) North Division contest at Hill Field House.
Morgan State (12-13, 7-5 MEAC), which entered the contest looking to sweep this season's MEAC series with the Lady Bison and secure the No. 2 seed in the division, dropped to fourth with the loss. Only the top four teams in the division advance to the league championship.
The Lady Bears will now have to play the waiting game and hope that Delaware State can knock off Norfolk State (which holds the tie-breaker over Morgan State) on Sunday and Coppin defeats Howard. If Norfolk State were to beat Delaware State and Howard beats Coppin State, then that would create a three-way tie between Morgan State, Coppin State and Norfolk State. In that case the Lady Bears would be eliminated.
Meanwhile, the Lady Bison improved to 20-9 overall and 8-3 in MEAC play and remained in second-place. They can solidify the No. 2 spot with a win over Coppin State on Sunday.
