Zuri Smith added 12 and 10 kills, respectively, to lead visiting Morgan State to a 3-1 (25-21, 25-12, 23-25, 25-19) victory over Delaware State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) contest at Memorial Hall on Sunday. With the win, Morgan State head coach

Arianna Hayden finished with a match-high 14 digs and
Ngebui Chafeh nearly recorded a double-double, finishing with 47 assists and nine digs to help the Lady Bears complete a season series sweep of Delaware State.
Morgan State (12-12, 7-4 MEAC), which has now won three straight and seven of its last eight matches, reached .500 for the first time this season. The 12 wins are the most by a Morgan State team since the 2006 squad finished 23-9. The seven league victories are the most since 2011 when the team finished 8-4 and in second-place in the MEAC North Division.
Delaware State (2-20, 0-10 MEAC) was led by Jessica Russell-Croucher, who tallied a team-high 15 kills and had a team-high 10 digs. Jasmine Jackson finished with 10 kills and Natalia Mendieta totaled 27 assists in the loss.
Both teams ended the match with 7.0 blocks. Smith led the Lady Bears with four blocks, while Jae Jackson led the host Hornets with four blocks.
The Lady Bears will close out the regular season on Friday, Nov. 8, when they host Howard in a MEAC match at Hill Field House. First serve is at 7 p.m. The contest will mark Senior Night for Lady Bears,
Ngebui Chafeh and
Janelle Wilson. Morgan State will be looking to take two of three from the Lady Bison this season, while sweeping the MEAC series. Howard defeated the Lady Bears in a five-set thriller in the opener of the Friars Classic in Providence, R.I., while Morgan State later returned the favor with a four-set victory in Washington, D.C.
