Samantha Prescott recorded a double-double with a match-high 16 kills and 10 digs, to lead visiting Morgan State to a 3-1 (25-27, 25-19, 25-19, 25-13) victory over the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) North Division match on Halloween night at the W.P. Hytche Athletic Center.

Arianna Hayden set a match- and career-high 34 digs and Ngebui Chafe totaled a match-high 45 assists in Thursday's win, which also provided the Lady Bears with a season sweep of UMES.
Morgan State (11-12, 6-4 MEAC), which earlier this season ended a 12-match losing skid to the Lady Hawks with a win at Hill Field House, hadn't won in Princess Anne since a 3-2 victory on Nov. 9, 2006.
The 2006 campaign also marked the last time the Lady Bears had swept the season series from UMES.
Zuri Smith tallied 12 kills and
Janelle Wilson added 11 kills for the Lady Bears. Morgan State held a 9.0-5.5 blocking advantage over the Lady Hawks. Wilson led Morgan State with a match-high five blocks, while
Haley McClure and Smith each recorded three blocks. Haley Robinson led UMES with three blocks.
UMES (3-18, 2-7 MEAC) received a match-high 12 kills, while Diara Lewis finished with 11. Jingqiao Li recorded a team-high 39 digs for the Lady Hawks, who have now lost seven of their last eight contests.
UMES used a 17-11 run in the opening set to turn a 10-7 deficit into a 24-41 lead, capped off with a kill by Haley Robinson. Morgan State used a mini 2-0 run to pull within 24-23 and later evened the score at 25-25 on a kill by Wilson. A kill by Lewis gave the hosts a one-point lead and an attack error on Morgan State gave UMES the 27-25 victory.
The two teams traded points back-and-forth in the second set, before Morgan State broke a 15-15 tie with a 6-2 run to take a 21-17 advantage. Smith later ended the match with a kill to give Morgan State a 25-19 victory and even the match at 1-1.
Lady Bears came out of the intermission and built a 13-9 lead in Set 3, following three straight points. Morgan State's lead increased it to 17-10 when Smith and
Shanotta Bawek combined on an assisted block. Wilson ended the match on a kill to give the guests a 25-19 win.
In Set 4, Morgan jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead and extended its cushion to 14-6 on a service ace from Bawek. Morgan State closed out the set and match on an 8-4 spurt with Wilson ending it on a kill for the 25-13 victory.
Morgan State recorded 53 kills on 154 attempts and had 18 errors for a hitting percentage of .227, while UMES totaled 45 kills on 170 attempts and committed 32 errors for a .076 hitting percentage.
The Lady Bears will head to Dover, Del. on Sunday, Nov. 3 to take on the Hornets of Delaware State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) North Division match at Memorial Hall. First serve is at 3 p.m. Morgan State head coach
