OPENING KICKOFF
The Bears will attempt to get in the win column when they host non-conference opponent Robert Morris in the home-opener next Saturday (Sept. 17).  The Colonials dropped to 0-2 following a 38-7 loss to  Liberty. MSU will look to bounce back from a 58-13 loss at Bowling Green. Game time at Hughes Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m. and there will be a live radio broadcast of the game on WEAA, 88.9 FM.

THE BEARS-COLONIALS MATCHUP
• This will be the first matchup in history between MSU and Robert Morris in  football. MSU men's basketball team, coached by Todd Bozeman, handed the Colonials a 67-66 loss at Hill Field House on Dec. 31, 2010.
• The Colonials (0-2) will enter Hughes Stadium in search of its first win of the 2011 season. They  fell in their season-opener against Dayton (L,13-19) and at No. 21 Liberty (L, 7-38) last Saturday. 
• RMU is averaging 234.5yards of total offense and 99.0 yards on the ground.
• Sophomore QB Jeff Sinclair finished the 2010 season as the NEC leader in touchdown passes (22). He also ranked fifth in the league in passing yards per game.  He has started the '11 season by completing 24-of-54 passes for 259 yards, including 4 interceptions and a touchdown.

HOME OPENERS
• MSU is 8-1 under head coach Donald Hill-Eley in home-openers since 2002.
  Last season's home-opener ended with a 14-7 victory against Division II member Bowie State.
• Since 1991, the Bears have posted a 14-5 record in season openers.
 

DIGGS EYES RECEIVING MARK
With 29 receptions through 11 games last season, senior wideout Winfred Diggs broke into the top 10 on Morgan State's all-time list. Diggs recently moved in front of Clarence Holzendorf (1979-80) for No. 7 in receptions following a 2-catch effort at Bowling Green. The Oxon Hill, Md. product has played in 31 games and has 749 reception yards. 

QUICK HITS
  Against Bowling Green, redshirt freshman Robert Council was inserted into the starting lineup and completed 4-of-19 passes for 32 yards and had 51 yards on the ground in almost 3 quarters of action.

  Junior RB Travis Davidson scored the Bears first touchdown of the season when he raced 61 yards to paydirt at Bowling Green in his first action of the season - he posted 89 yards on 12 carries.

 A week after giving up over 500 total yards to Towson, the Falcons' hung 572 yards on the Bears defense.

  MSU redshirt-freshman linebacker Michael Dallas II made an immediate impact in his first career start as he posted a game-high 11 tackles against Bowling Green.

  MSU sophomore placekicker Abraham Mercado has connected on 3-of-5 field goals so far this season, and had one of his kicks blocked at Bowling Green.

• After Saturday's contest the Bears will kick-off MEAC conference play when they host Howard for the Whitney Young Classic in Meadowlands, N.J. ... Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. on September 24th at MetLife Stadium.
