Erin Cox tied a team-high with five kills and added a team-high six digs.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Sept. 10, 2011)-Bianca Rouse finished with a match-high 11 kills, Sheri Davis notched 24 assists and Christina Drake recorded a match-high 11 digs to lead host Charlotte to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-13) sweep of Morgan State on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference match during the Hilton University 49er Invitational.
Last night against Campbell, Rouse and Leah Leventhal each tallied 20 kills, combining for 40 of Charlotte's 64 kills, as the host 49ers defeated Campbell in four sets. Sheri Davis had 47 assists and Christina Drake led all players with 24 digs.
While Morgan State didn't have to deal with those types of numbers out of the Charlotte players, they had to deal with their own unforced errors. The Lady Bears committed 16 attack errors, had seven service errors and allowed 15 service aces by the 49ers, resulting off of 15 service received errors by Morgan State.
Erin Cox and Nikita Wickham each totaled five kills to lead the Lady Bears (2-7). Cox added a team-high six digs, while Natalie Chafeh finished with 17 assists.
In the third and final set Charlotte used a 7-0 run to take a 10-3 lead and never looked back. The host 49ers held a 17-7 advantage, before Morgan State went on its largest run of the entire match (4-0) to pull within 17-11. Charlotte then closed out with a 7-1 spurt, including six straight to defeat the Lady Bears 25-13.
Charlotte finished the match with a hitting percentage of .429, while Morgan State was held to .069.
The Lady Bears close out the 2011 Hilton University 49er Invitational with a 4:30 p.m. match later this evening against Campbell. Like Morgan State, the Camels enter the contest with a 0-2 record in the tournament.
