BALTIMORE, Md. -- Jordan Lee scored a game-high 19 points in 23 minutes to help lead Coppin State to a 73-60 win against cross-town rival Morgan State on Thursday night in the regular-season finale in the Physical Education Complex.

With the win the Eagles (16-13, 11-5) not only snapped a 6-game losing streak to the Bears, but they will head into next week's Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament as the No. 3 seed.

Morgan State, the two-time defending MEAC tournament champions, will enter the tournament as the No. 4 seed as a result of the loss, coupled with Hampton's win (No. 2 seed) tonight against Howard. Bethune-Cookman, the regular season champions, will enter the tournament as the No. 1 seed.

The Bears (15-13, 10-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) led 30-28 at halftime as both team looked sluggish through the first 20 minutes of play. But the second half was a different story as Coppin's scoring came alive, especially behind the play of Jordan Lee.

Lee, who went scoreless in the first half, exploded in the second half where he connected on 5-of-11 shots including a critical stretch during the final minutes of the game.

With 5:36 to play, Lee drained a deep 3 from the corner off a halfcourt pass from Vince Goldsberry. Tony Gallo came back with a 3 a minute later, and Lee hit another to make it 63-58.

Morgan didn't score in the final three minutes of the game, when Michael Harper (14 points) made two huge steals and delivered two thunderous dunks — one of them a windmill slam that brought the crowd to its feet. He finished off the game with another dunk in the final 45 seconds after another Morgan turnover.

The Eagles shot a blistering 61.9 percent (13-21) and scored 15 points off Morgan State turnovers in the second half.

Vince Goldsberry added 16 points for Coppin State and Michael Harper had 14.

DeWayne Jackson scored 16 and Kevin Thompson chipped in 14 for the Bears, who went the final 4:21 without a field goal and lost their third in a row for the first time since the 2005-06 season, when the Bears went 4-24 in Butch Beard's final season.
