ECAC Meet Results
BOSTON, Mass. (March 3-6, 2011)–The Morgan State women's indoor track and field team traveled to Massachusetts where they competed in the 2011 ECAC Championships, hosted by Boston University at the Reggie Lewis Center.
The Lady Bears finished 12th overall with 21 points, while Connecticut finished with 96.5 points to complete a team sweep with its men, who won the IC4A championship.
Tanisha Kendrick had an outstanding championship, finishing first overall in the 400 meter dash, as she crossed the line in a time of 54.48, while teammate Ekundayo Sogbesean, who won her section, ran a season-best time of 55.95 to take fourth overall to earn All-ECAC honors.
In the high jump Jeanelle Ovid placed 19th with a height of 5-05.00. In the shot put, Ranita Mealer did well placing eighth overall with a toss of 45-04.25 and Candace Shirley placed fourth in the weight throw with a throw of 58-07.25.
The Morgan State Lady Bears will look forward to the outdoor season which will start March 18, 2011 at the Wake Forest Open in Winston-Salem, N.C.
