GAME TIME
• Morgan State will face America East Conference member UMBC in Baltimore at the RAC Arena on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. (ET). This represents the 27th regular season meeting between the Bears and UMBC. MSU leads the series 14-12 since 1970 and defeated the Retrievers 75-62 at Hill Field House on Dec. 18, 2010.

A BEARS WIN WOULD...
Snap the Bears' seven-game losing streak.
 Give the Bears its first true road victory since February 14, 2011 in Orangeburg versus South Carolina State (72-66).
 Improve Todd Bozeman's record against the Retrievers to 7-1.
 Improve the Bears' all-time record against UMBC to 15-12.

UMBC's LAST TIME OUT
• 
 UMBC outscored host Towson, 10-4, in the final 2:10, hitting 10 of 12 free throw attempts, and defeated the Tigers, 62-58 in the 53rd meeting between the two teams. Junior guard Ryan Cook led all scorers with 17 points and converted the tying and go-ahead free throw attempts down the stretch.

BEAR BITS
The Morgan State Bears gave it their all, but were unable to pull out the victory and lost to the Ohio Bobcats 61-53 on Saturday at the OU Convocation Center. DeWayne Jackson led the Bears (0-7) with 15 points, while Kevin Thompson had 13 points and 12 rebounds.

• MSU is off to an 0-7 start, including four road losses at UNLV (55-92), USC (62-65), Cal Poly (61-62), Tennessee State (64-69) and Ohio (53-61). 

Kevin Thompson has led the Bears in rebounding 76 times ... he recorded 13 double-doubles (pts & rebs) during the 2010-11 season and has posted three double-doubles so far this season.

Senior point guard Larry Bastfield is the only Bear to have started in every game (31) last season...currently he has started in 38 straight games.

Redshirt sophomore Ian Chiles (7-foot-2) is the first 7-footer since MSU legend Marvin Webster to grace the campus of Morgan State University ... Chiles, a Cliffside Park, N.J. product, is currently averaging 10.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2 blocks so far this season.

The Bears will look to rebound from last year's fourth place MEAC finish and reclaim the conference title for the fourth time in five years.
 
The Bears completed the 2010-11 season with a 17-14 mark and posted a 10-6 conference record.
 
Morgan State was selected to win the MEAC Regular Season Title, edging out last year's MEAC Tournament Champion Hampton. The Bears received eight (8) first place votes and a totaled 616 points to take hold of the conference's top spot going into the season.

Junior forward DeWayne Jackson has 896 points, and needs 104 more to become the 21st member of the 1,000-point club at Morgan State.

LOOKING AHEAD 
• Morgan State will return home to Hill Field House on Wednesday, Dec. 21, when the Bears host Loyola Marymount at 7 p.m. The matchup with the Lions will be followed by a four-game stretch of road games, starting with Saint Joseph's on Dec. 28 and wrapping up at Savannah State on January 7.
