(Nov. 4, 2011)-Saitaua Iosia notched a match-high 20 kills on 30 attempts, while hitting for a match-high .567 percent and added a team-high 10 digs to lead host Maryland Eastern Shore to a 3-1 (25-18, 25-16, 22-25, 25-20) Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) North Division victory over Morgan State on Friday night at the Hytche Center.
Ndidi Ibe and Maline Vaitai chipped in with 15 and 10 kills, respectively and Jessica Vicic finished with a match-high 48 assists for the Lady Hawks, who captured their fifth straight MEAC North Division title with the win. UMES also extended its home court winning streak to 21-straight matches, which ranks fifth in the nation.
Morgan State (8-18, 6-4 MEAC) was led by Kierra Outlin, who tallied a team-high 15 kills and seven digs, while Erin Cox recorded a double-double with 13 kills and a team-high 10 digs. Ngebui (Natalie) Chafeh totaled 39 assists to go with six digs and a match-high six blocks for the Lady Bears who had their season-high five-match winning streak snapped.
