Volunteer assistant coach Edna Chumo
BALTIMORE, Md. (Aug. 18, 2010) - Morgan State head volleyball coach Ramona Riley-Bozier has announced the addition of assistant coach Rose Miller and volunteer assistant Edna Chumo to her coaching staff.
Miller, a 2009 graduate of Sacramento State, comes to Morgan State after spending the 2009 season as an assistant coach at Florida International. While at Sacramento State, Miller was a four-year letterwinner on the Hornets' volleyball team and finished her career playing in 107 consecutive matches dating back to her freshman season. As the team's starting setter for three consecutive seasons, Miller compiled 4,294 career assists, which ranks fifth all-time on the school's charts and eighth overall in Big Sky Conference history.
A 2007 graduate of Central Methodist, Chumo garnered first-team All-American honors in 2003-04 during her junior and senior season with the Eagles. Prior to that, Chumo was a two-time All-American her first two years at Missouri State-West Plains and was named the team's MVP. She was inducted in the school's hall of fame in 2008.
The Lady Bears begin the 2010 campaign on Friday, Aug. 27, when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. to face Saint Francis-Pa. in the opening match of the Courtyard by Marriott Invitational co-hosted by Duquesne and Robert Morris. First serve is slated for 1:30 p.m. at the A.J. Palumbo Center on the campus of Duquesne.
