Howard 3, Morgan State 0
BALTIMORE, Md. (May 3, 2010)-The Morgan State softball team dropped a tough 3-0 decision to Howard on Sunday afternoon in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) game at Lois T. Murray Field. The victory completed a three-game weekend series sweep for defending MEAC North Division champion and current league-leader Howard, while spoiling the Lady Bears' Senior Day.
Morgan State fell to 7-23 overall and 3-9 in the MEAC, while Howard improved to 21-16 overall and 11-1 in conference play. With the loss to Howard, coupled by Hampton winning two out of three games against Delaware State, as well as Coppin State, who entered the weekend one league victory in front of Morgan, before sweeping Maryland Eastern Shore, the Lady Bears have been eliminated from the upcoming MEAC Tournament for the second consecutive season.
The Lady Bears will close out the season this weekend on the road at Delaware State. The weekend series begins on Saturday, May 8 with a doubleheader at noon and concludes on Sunday with a single game starting a noon.
