BALTIMORE, Md. – Morgan State guard Reggie Holmes earned an honorable mention in the Associated Press' All-America team lists released Monday.
Holmes became the first Division I player in Morgan State history to be selected to the AP All-American team. MSU legend Marvin “The Human Eraser” Webster was a two-time Division II First-Team AP All-American selection in 1974 and 1975.
"It's a tremendous honor," said MSU coach Todd Bozeman. "I am happy for him and extremely proud of him as well. He has earned the recognition."
Holmes, the 2010 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference player of the year, ranked 10th among the nation's leading scorers by averaging 21.8 points per game during the regular season. He scored 20 or more points in 24 out of 37 games, including six games of 30 or more points.
Two freshman from Kentucky, John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins, were named to the All-America first team. Joining them were Ohio State junior Evan Turner, who received all but one first-team vote, Syracuse junior Wes Johnson and Villanova senior Scottie Reynolds.
