Morgan State (2-3, 1-1 MEAC) was routed by Bethune-Cookman 69-32 at Hughes Stadium last Saturday. MSU's loss dropped Coach Donald Hill-Eley's record to 44-51 in his 9th season.

MSU at N.C. A&T Homecoming matchup – Morgan State used a 31-point explosion in the second half en route to a 41-3 rout of North Carolina A&T during the Aggies homecoming festivities on Saturday afternoon at Aggie Stadium. QB #Carlton Jackson# threw for 128 yards with a 38-yard touchdown pass, and Devan James rushed for 103 yards, including a 28-yard TD, as the Bears improved to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Linebacker Gregory Onyuike finished with seven tackles and collected two of the Bears' game-high 12 tackles behind the line of scrimmage. MSU's defensive unit held the Aggies to 139 yards and eight first downs.

Chuka Okakpu, a freshman from Roswell, Ga., is slowly making a name throughout the league as one of the top receivers in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The 6-foot-4 wideout leads the team with 159 yards on 15 receptions and currently ranks 5th in the MEAC by averaging 3 receptions per game. Okakpu leads the squad with a pair of touchdowns and was selected MEAC Rookie of the Week following the Bears victory against Howard at the New York Urban League Classic in New Meadowlands Stadium.
Freshman QB at MSU
When Delonte Williams quarterbacked the Bears in the second half of the Howard game, it marked the first time since 1979, and the first time under Donald Hill-Eley, that a freshman had been at QB. The last freshman to quarterback the Bears had been Darrell Coulter in 1979. Coulter was an All-MEAC selection who led the Bears to the 1979 MEAC Championship and was recently inducted into the MSU Hall of Fame. Coulter was MSU's starting QB as a freshman.

Morgan State has been selected to play on ESPNU when the Bears matchup against MEAC defending champion South Carolina State on November 11th. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Hughes Stadium. In Donald Hill-Eley's ninth year at the helm of the Bears, this will mark the fourth football game ESPNU has televised and it will be the second time ESPNU has broadcast from Hughes Stadium. ESPNU televised Morgan State's 14-7 win against Howard at Hughes Stadium on October 15, 2009.
