RALEIGH, N.C. (Aug. 29, 2009)-Amanda Hill notched a match-high 11 kills and Cori Holeman added 10 to lead Charleston Southern to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-20) non-conference win over Morgan State in the first match of day 2 of the NC State Hilton RTP Classic at Reynolds Coliseum.
The Buccaneers, who improved to 2-1 on the season with the win, hit .298 as a team for the match, including a .433 performance in the opening set. Sam Sasan totaled 37 assists and Tricia Rodl finished with a match-high 17 digs.
Morgan State, which fell to 0-3, was led by Erin Cox's eight kills, while Ivanti Bush and Kierra Riley added seven and six kills, respectively. Christa Rogers finished with 23 assists, six digs, three kills and a block.
Riley and Dominique Bozier each recorded two blocks to help Morgan State out block Charleston Southern 4.0-3.5. Morgan State has out blocked their opponent in all three matches played.
Morgan State closes out the NC State Hilton RTP Classic with a non-conference match against Davidson at 2 p.m.
