Ivanti Bush fell shy of a double-double, finishing with 10 kills and nine digs in Friday's win over Hampton.

BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 23, 2009)-Erin Cox and Ivanti Bush both recorded a team-high 10 kills and to help Morgan State to a 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-20) victory over visiting Hampton in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference North Division match on Friday night at Hill Field House.
With the win and Howard's 3-0 loss tonight to MEAC North Division leader Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State (7-18, 2-3 MEAC) is now in a wild three-way tie for third-place with Hampton and Howard. Howard defeated Morgan State earlier this season, but lost to Hampton. Only the top four teams in the division will advance to next month's MEAC championship (Nov. 20-22), hosted by Coppin State.
Dina Beamon finished with a team-high 15 digs, while Bush fell short of a double-double, adding nine digs in the win for Morgan State (7-18, 2-3 MEAC), which has now won its last two home matches. Christa Rogers finished with a match-high 27 assists and Kierra Riley and Dominique Bozier each had two blocks to lead the Lady Bears to a 4.5-2.5 blocking advantage over Hampton.
The Lady Pirates (7-15, 2-3 MEAC) were led by Brittany Wynne, who finished with a match-high 12 kills and Mianna Armstrong added 11 kills and had 18 digs to record a double-double. Ivana Suput also had a match-high 18 digs and Lihi Elkayam totaled 23 assists.
Morgan State returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 25, when it travels to Princess Anne, Md., to take on the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Hytche Center.
