The Morgan State Lady Bears made it a perfect Homecoming weekend at MSU by defeating Hampton University in a Sunday afternoon volleyball encounter 3-0 (30-22,30-18,30-13).
The Lady Bears (15-16, 6-4 MEAC) took control early and were able to dominate the Lady Pirates in all three games of the match. MSU used good passing and strong defense to hold off a Hampton team that has never defeated Morgan on the volleyball court.
Freshman Esther Johnson led the way for Morgan with 10 kills and 15 digs. MSU Libero Ashley Preston contributed 17 digs to the Lady Bear victory.
MSU held the Lady Pirates to a .012 hitting percentage, and served up 9 aces during the match.
