Morgan State (12-12, 4-0 MEAC) extended their longest winning streak of the season to five games with a win Saturday night over St. Francis (PA) 3-1 (22-30, 30-18, 30-22, 30-24).

The Lady Bears struggled out of the gate, but quickly found their stride and put away the Red Flash in a Saturday night encounter at Hill Field House on the Morgan State campus.

After a sluggish start, MSU took control of the match in Game 2 and never looked back.  The Lady Bears enjoyed one of their strongest hitting performance of the season, as they hit a collective .376 for the match.

Leading the way for the Blue and Orange was freshman Esther Johnson who had 21 kills for the evening. Adria Boyd had an active night, collecting 19 kills and 9 digs.

Ashley Preston led the team with 15 digs, and Junel Jeffries had a good day running the offense, as she handed out 46 assists and 3 service aces.

St. Francis (PA) was led by Anne Roosevelt who had 17 kills.

MSU returns to action on Monday, October 11, 2004 when they travel to Dover, DE to take on MEAC rival Delaware State. The match is set to begin at 6:30p.m. at DSU.
