Latricia Jones leads Lady Bears with 8 rebounds vs. Howard

The Morgan State University Lady Bears (0-12, 0-4) fell behind 20-2 to start the game and never recovered. When the dust cleared, MSU fell to the Lady Bison of Howard University by an 86-45 count in a game played Saturday at Howard.
MSU shot only 19% in the 1st half and 27% for the game. The Lady Bears committed 40 turnovers on their way to their 32nd consecutive Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference defeat.
Morgan State was overwhelmed by the Lady Bison from the opening tap, and could not find any answers in falling behind 47-15 at intermission.
MSU never seriously threatened in the second half, and that allowed the Bison to cruise to the 41 point victory.
Morgan State was beaten on the boards 60-42, and the Bison won the battle of the offensive glass 25-12.
Only one Morgan player finished in double figures. Sophomore Jennyffer Vargas poured in 12 points and grabbed a rebounds. Latricia Jones led MSU on the glass with 8 rebounds.
The Lady Bison (2-9, 2-0 MEAC) were led by Melloni Benson who scored a game high 16. Christina Aden came off the Bison bench to add 14 points.
Morgan State returns to action on Monday, January 12, 2004 when they travel to Dover, DE to take on the Delaware State University Lady Hornets. That game is scheduled to begin at 5:30p.m.
