Tyrae Reid

Tyrae Reid enters his third season on the Morgan State football coaching staff and his second season as the Bears’ quarterbacks coach under head coach Damon Wilson.

Reid joined the Morgan State program in 2024 as wide receivers coach and pass game coordinator before transitioning to quarterbacks coach during the 2025 season. In his first season working with the quarterbacks, Reid brought his extensive experience as a former collegiate quarterback and offensive coach to the position, helping guide the Bears’ quarterbacks through game preparation, film study and offensive development.

Reid also continued his professional development in 2025 when he participated in the eighth annual Quarterback Coaching Summit. The event provided coaches with an opportunity to learn from NFL, college and HBCU coaching professionals while expanding their knowledge of quarterback development and offensive strategy.

Prior to joining Morgan State, Reid spent two seasons with the Washington Commanders. In 2022, he joined the organization as an offensive assistant, working closely with the quarterbacks. In 2023, he added responsibilities as assistant receivers coach, gaining valuable experience working with multiple areas of the offense.

Reid built an impressive coaching resume at Bowie State University before making the move to the NFL. He began his coaching career at Bowie State as a student assistant in 2013, working with the quarterbacks. He was promoted to quarterbacks coach in 2017 and held the position for two seasons before being elevated to offensive coordinator in 2019. As offensive coordinator, Reid was responsible for designing and implementing the Bulldogs’ offensive game plan.

Reid also spent three seasons at McDaniel College from 2014-16, serving as quarterbacks coach. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, he served as an academic coordinator and video coordinator, gaining experience in player development, academic support, film study, and game preparation.

A Baltimore native, Reid was a standout quarterback at Bowie State from 2009-12. He started games in all four seasons and was named to the CIAA All-Rookie Team in 2009. His experience as a collegiate quarterback has provided him with a strong foundation for developing players at the position.

Reid earned a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Bowie State University in 2014 and a master’s degree in Exercise Science/Athletic Administration from McDaniel College in 2016.

Heading into the 2026 season, Reid will continue to oversee Morgan State’s quarterbacks as the Bears enter the second season of his tenure coaching the position. His background as a former collegiate quarterback, offensive coordinator, and NFL offensive assistant gives him a diverse perspective in developing quarterbacks and preparing them to execute the Bears’ offensive system. Morgan State’s 2026 coaching staff lists Reid as quarterbacks coach.
