Marquis Johnson is in his second year with the Morgan State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, currently serving as the Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services. He began this new position on November 27, 2024 after spending the previous year as the Athletics Academic Coordinator at Morgan State, where he worked closely with the Track and Field, Volleyball, and Wrestling teams.
Marquis is a native of Richmond, VA, and a proud graduate of James Madison University (JMU). He earned his bachelor's degree in Sports Management from JMU in 2019 and went on to complete a master's degree in Sports Leadership from JMU in May 2021. Marquis also gained valuable experience as an Athletics Administration Intern at JMU, which further fueled his passion for supporting student-athletes in their academic and athletic pursuits.
